United Way for Southeastern Michigan mourns the loss of Tanya Heidelberg-Yopp, who passionately served in several roles, including chief operating officer and interim chief executive officer.
A champion for social change and advocate for the success of our children, Tanya successfully launched United Way’s signature College and Career Pathways initiative, which continues to impact the lives of students in Detroit Public School Community District high schools. She also successfully orchestrated the organization’s move from Campus Martius to the New Center neighborhood at the Fisher Building, better ensuring United Way’s connectivity to the communities it serves.
Tanya’s impact throughout greater Detroit is sure to be felt for many years to come, and she will be greatly missed by her United Way family. Tanya’s family is in our thoughts and prayers and we are wishing them the best during this time.
