United Way for Southeastern Michigan has launched a $10 million campaign to raise emergency grant funding for organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The agency has so far raised $4.9 million for the fund, which will allow nonprofits and other agencies to apply for grants and receive approval in two to three days.
“People in Southeast Michigan need help right now. We are working to quickly get funds to those that are having an immediate impact on people affected by the virus,” Darienne Driver Hudson, Ed.D., president and CEO of United Way for Southeastern Michigan, said.
“Thanks to our corporate and philanthropic partners, and individuals, we are able to provide this support when it is most needed. We are encouraging everyone that is able to consider supporting this important work.”
